Working with Aurora Orchestra and Kings College Choir – Live Show

Today we are filming the Aurora Orchestra performing Mozart’s Requiem with Kings College Choir at Kings Place in London. This will be appearing live on The Guardian website. Which is especially good as it’s sold out for both of it’s performances this evening (www.kingsplace.co.uk/whats-on-book-tickets/music/mozarts-requiem-2)

It’s really pleasing to use our technology with such prestigious groups. We have been able to wrap this live performance with pre-recorded advertisements as well. We like integrating live and pre-recorded – it gives great results for businesses involved.

We recently got involved in a fantastic collaboration to make this very cool and crazy video for the band OK Go when they played in Brazil. The film visualises user profile pics to make up the stream.

It was organised by Albion London who made a custom player, Flint provided IP connectivity and there was a local film crew. We played the small but important part of providing our CDN and helping with the project management.

Manchester Camerata

* is confident working on complex codebases
* has good experience of javascript development (including tools and client side development)
* is abreast of (and interested by) emerging browser technologies and standards (e.g. HTML 5)
* has some experience of server-side programming (exposure to any of: JVM development, node.js or scala a definite plus)
* takes pride in honing and applying their craft
* often thinks in terms of design patterns
* treats TDD as the norm
* is passionate about new (particularly open source) technologies
* gets a kick out of working within a close-knit team
* is comfortable working from home

Beatboxing and Augmented Reality. All in a week’s work.

It’s been a busy week here at Videojuicer with live webcasts on Tuesday and Thursday!

On Tuesday our producer Matt Jolly went to the Old Queen’s Head to stream the Relay Loop Sessions – a live collaboration between beatboxer Schlomo and five other acoustic acts. The event was to raise awareness and money for MSF’s Haiti Campaign.

Viewers could text a phone number overlayed on the screen and donate. All profits were donated to MSF.

And on the latter half of the week, Videojuicer collaborated with Flint to broadcast the official launch of String’s Augmented Reality technology for iOS at the Augmented Reality Summit in Delfina.

String’s technology allows you to point your iOS device to a marker and experience it: point it to a picture of a dragon and you can see it animated on your iPhone; point it to a car and race with it on your iPad…

AR allows brands to engage their audiences in new and interactive ways. See the presentation below!

Aurora Orchestra – Seeing is Believing

In June 2011, Aurora Orchestra release their disc “Seeing is Believing” on Decca Classics, and launched it with a performance at Kings Place on May 7th. The concert featured 3 pieces from the CD by Nico Muhly, as well as some more established 20th century works by Charles Ives, Paul Hindemith, and John Adams.

The newly relaunched Decca Classics was keen to publicise the CD through all channels, and Kings Place wanted to show off their hall and technology. The concert was streamed live on the Guardian, Aurora and Facebook, using the Videojuicer platform. Using expertise drawn on from Plushmusic, we also directed the Kings Place camera operators to provide compelling footage, as well as negotiated with the BBC over sharing microphones for their own Radio 3 recording.

The video player contained click-throughs to pre-order the CD, book Muhly opera tickets or buy featured music.

The performance was flawless and received flattering reviews in the national press, and a Royal Philharmonic Society Ensemble award just a few days later.

Mediacom – How is digital changing the future of TV?

Once again Videojuicer has teamed up with Flint to deliver Mediacom’s live webcast on “The Future of TV: How is digital changing the future of TV and can TV help shape the future of digital?”.

Gerhard Zeiler - CEO of RTL Group – and Sue Unerman – Chief Strategy Officer of MediaCom UK – engaged in the discussion moderated by Charlie Crowe, founder and Chief Executive of C Squared.

The webcast was the second instalment of the agency’s programme, “The Insider”, which aims to delivery relevant information to advertisers on a quarterly basis.

Videojuicer powers Schuh

Fully aware that video enhances sales conversions, Schuh filmed catwalk style videos of their shoes and using the Videojuicer platform, added these to the sales pages.

The video snippets engage the customer and help them imagine what the shoes look like in the real world – driving conversion rates.

Videojuicer were commissioned to devise a system that would update Schuh’s sales pages whenever a new product video was available, without the need for manual intervention.

Mugler + Gaga + live webcast = success!

Nicola Formichetti showed off his latest creations for the Mugler A/W 2011 ready-to-wear collection at Paris Fashion Week on the 2^nd March, 2011, through a live webcast which could only be seen on their Facebook fan page.

The webcast was not the only first – Lady Gaga made a star appearance and her never-before-heard-single “Government Hooker” was featured.

Videojuicer set off to Paris to produce the event which attracted over 65,000 unique viewers on the Facebook page and iOS devices.

The fashion house’s first foray into live streaming was greeted with enthusiasm and praise – as NYmag.com put it “What a joy it is now that live streams of fashion shows actually, well, stream!”
